The 31st Zigong Lantern Festival Preview

The 31st Zigong Lantern Festival is set to officially open in mid-January 2025, themed "Lanterns Celebrate China's Splendor." Featuring 12 extra-large lantern displays, 7 large ones, and over 200 medium and small sets, the event has an investment of nearly 100 million RMB. Seven themed zones—"Spring Celebration," "Jurassic Valley," "Fairyland Paradise," "Festive Gala," "Zigong Timewheel," "Cultural Fusion," and "Path of Blossoms"—highlight Chinese culture.

Notable highlights include the largest-ever "God of Wealth" lantern and a 55-meter gate inspired by Zigong's "Little Three Wonders" paper cutting. To welcome the Year of the Snake, a "viral" lantern recreates the legendary love story of The Legend of White Snake.

Using the Zigong · Chinese Lantern World Valley's unique terrain, the festival integrates Zigong’s signature animatronic dinosaurs, lantern art, and advanced AI to recreate a prehistoric Jurassic Valley. Visitors can interact with a "Dinosaur Squad" featuring cutting-edge tech like visual recognition and multi-sensory interactions.
